The primary rule of any religion is that we are all creations of the supreme God. Most people forget this basic principle and function in the world for worldly gains only but there are a quite few intelligent ones who think about greater truths and live accordingly by those principles that are instructed in religions. There are wonderful promises and abstract accounts of how heaven would be in every scripture in the world and to an extant thinking that it’s all rubbish is nonsense; imagine if a creator could create a vast world without any boundaries in space with multitudes of galaxies and supernovas for just humans to live here how big and rich can the kingdom of heaven be where the almighty resides and rules.
The cattle of Gods are people who intends to travel to those worlds of their desired gods or goddesses completely adhering to the rules and regulations instructed by those particular deities. So for a Vaishnava he adheres to every possible means in attaining salvation to his desired planet that is Vaikuntha; for a Shaivite its Kailasa, for the worshippers of Devi it’s the Devi’s abode as mentioned in her scriptures and it goes to every other individual gods and goddesses and even includes Ghosts or other spirits.
A cult of followers might preach a single doctrine, wear marks of their desired deities and would enjoy in doing things that pleases their deities along with other rules that humans need to follow when participating in the spiritual realm.
So what differentiates man from animal or any other spiritual being? In the Talmud, sacred literature of the Jews it is mentioned that humans were made in the image of God, but very few know that humans were also given procreation which was taken from the animals and angels were devoid of procreation and had a more god like stature than humans. So a person who has more sexual urges is no more different from an animal.
Maybe Lions among men seek the blessings of Devi; Hawks, monkeys and cows flock with Vishnu and Krishna, Peacocks wishes to be with Muruga, Rats with Ganesha and Bulls might follow Shiva and likewise every gods and goddesses have their fan following. It’s a big world and eventually everybody seeks and finds their specific cult one way or the other.
The Bhagavad Gita cites about how the cattle of Krishna would be which had been there from the time of creation. The first being Brahma himself had to meditate on the lord for over a 100 Deva years to start the process of creation in every kalpa.
Bhagavad Gita – Chapter 10- Verse 8 - 11
I am the source of everything. All things emanate from Me. Understanding this, the wise who are endowed with love, worship Me with all their heart.
Those who are always thinking of Me, who have dedicated their lives to Me, enlighten each other and feel great satisfaction and joy by always speaking about Me.
To those who are constantly devoted to Me and worship Me with love, I continue to bestow upon them devotional inspiration by which they may come to Me.
Out of compassion for them, I appear in their hearts and destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness that is born from ignorance.
