Shudra (IAST: Śūdra) is the fourth varna, or one of the four social categories found in the texts of Hinduism.[1] Various sources translate it into English as a caste,[1] or alternatively as a social class.[2] They are ranked as the lowest of the four varnas.
Theoretically, Shudras have constituted the hereditary laboring class serving others.[1][5] In actual history, they have shared occupations with other varnas including being warriors and kings.
The Shudra, states Marvin Davis, are not required to learn the Vedas. They were not "twice born" (Dvija), and their occupational sphere stated as service (seva) of the other three varna.[3][5] The word Dvija is neither found in any Vedas and Upanishads, nor is it found in any Vedanga literature such as the Shrauta-sutras or Grihya-sutras.[39] The word is almost entirely missing, in any context, from ancient Sanskrit literature composed before the last centuries of the 1st millennium BCE, and it scarcely appears in Dharmasutrasliterature.[39] Increasing mentions of it appear in Dharmasastras texts of mid to late 1st-millennium CE. The presence of the word Dvija is a marker that the text is likely a medieval era Indian text.[39]

The traditional occupation of Shudra is described as laborers and service providers.[40][41] However, this categorization varies by scholar.[42] For example, some sources state agriculturalists and artisans to be the hereditary occupation of Vaishya varna, some place these occupations with the Shudra varna, while some such as Charles Drekmeier state "Vaishya and Shudra actually shared many occupations and were frequently grouped together".

The Arthashastra mentions Shudra as artisans, while the Vishnusmriti (3rd century) states all arts to be their occupational domain. In contrast, the Parasarasmriti and other texts state that arts and crafts are the occupational domain of all four varnas.[45]

In Bhagavad Gita, the blessed lord says “catur-varnyam maya srstam”. Krsna says, "These four varnas are created by Me." So anything created by God, that is not monopoly for any class of men or for any country. Just like the sun is created by God. The sun is the thing which is enjoyed by all parts of the world. But there are countries, Western countries, where sun is not visible, covered by the cloud. Any country, any part of the world which is covered by cloud and the sun is not visible, according to sastra, such country is condemned. Because, although the sunshine is there, but certain condition, they cannot enjoy the sunshine.

Therefore from the Western countries, when people come to this country, especially in India, when they see from the Arabian Sea bright sunshine, they very much become astonished, "How nice sunshine is here." So sunshine is the property for everyone, but according to intelligence or according to fortune, they enjoy it.

So brahminical culture also, similarly, it is just like sunshine. It is meant for everyone. But the people must be intelligent enough to take it.

Unfortunately, this system, although India was observing very rigidly, now it is slackened, or practically nil. We have lost our brahminical culture, the catur-varnyam maya srstam. This is the, due to the influence of Kali-yuga. Kalau sudra-sambhavah In the Kali-yuga practically everyone is a sudra or less than sudra. Less than sudra is called candala. Sudras, sometimes sudras also eat meat, but the less than sudras, they have no discrimination. They eat even dogs. The dog-eaters, they are described in the sastra, sva-paca. Sva means dog, and paca means, pacanti, cook.

What rights do you say you hold Oo born in the lower order.. You are now unbounded to your duties; your duties lie in agriculture and animal husbandary and even when you do this you will never be entitled to ownership of property.. you will live in dependence of your higher Varnas; Since science didn’t create the universe it has no ownership to it whatsoever and religions which claim to know the creator would have Earths possession…

Hi all, meet Sugunan; the native Indian from God's own country, his family has no rest in praising his merits, he lives for his family though. Now Sugunan also argues that he lives in reality and knows many truths. So then why has he been cut off from the world of gentle animals of which the modern rendition would be genetically modified animals?
No matter what he would never graze or farm. He would never study plants or animals; he would simply lead his simple yet pointless life as a mere "CONSUMER" and that is what all modern system in societies are all about..just the consumption and draining up of all things good or finding a commercial value to each and every thing and my dear friends our friend Suguanan is only a Pawn in this big league of anarchy...
Aren't we being uprooted from our roots of inheritance and being planted on a new soil of mere artificial mechanical abundance? Generations back our friend Sugunan was somebody different now my friends he would only be a consumer and a citizen and all other identities related to his past wiped down...And think about his generations to come they will also be identified as mere consumers and that folks is called post modernism for the poor...
Only the understanding of Abundance from farming and grazing would bring riches to humans and that's a period.
